Fellow Lions,

I wish to introduce to you the District A-4 Multiple Organ Retrieval Exchange Program. This is a wonderful program where we have teamed up with the Ottawa Hospital Organ and Tissue Donation Program. We work very closely with the Renal Program and it Social Worker, Diane Boisjoli.

This program assists individuals and their families who have donated or received an organ transplant during their recovery period. Most have to give up working for a few weeks or months and our program assists them where the Ontario Medicare or their private insurance does not cover during this timeframe.

I have attached a District A-4 M.O.R.E FAQ Sheet which will answer some or many of the questions you may have about the program. Also attached are three pamphlets with information on transplant for Receipants, Donors, and Living Donor Paired Exchange Registry. I hope you will find these interesting and informative.

I would be pleased to come and visit your Club or Zone and make a presentation on M.O.R.E. As Lion Al Tanner always says "Don’t Take Your Organs to Heaven, Heaven Knows We Need Them Here!"
